Took my wife out to dinner for our 21st anniversary. Food was great service was as well. We will be back. Love this place.
Sal's in Radford is the original and the best. An institution in the New River Valley, Sal's has always been great and has expanded their menu over the years to include a huge variety of authentic and delicious Italian fare. You really can't go wrong with their menu. No matter what kind of Italian food you like, they have you covered. They also have several different price points available so no matter your budget, you will find something to love. (Stop by for lunch to enjoy special selections from 11am-3pm) My family's favorites are the various types of pasta and sauces, the "Special Steak" sandwich, the eggplant parmesan, the calzones and of course - the pizza. All amazing. Pro tip: Order off the appetizer menu for a different selection of awesome food. You can make a meal of the appetizers. The garlic knots are ridiculously good as is the fried calamari. Finally, the owners and staff are the nicest you will ever run across. Fantastic people making fantastic food. Locally owned and operated for as long as I can remember, Sal's is a treasure. If you live in the NRV you have probably eaten here already, but if not, you need to check them out. You won't be sorry!
The menu is extensive, the food arrived quickly, and the staff was friendly. The Napoli Combo (Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan, and Sausage Parmesan) was decent, but very greasy. Not a bad stop, by any stretch of the imagination, and a great place to bring your family.
Sals was very good Italian food for a low cheap price.
